What is Hemp? 5 Industrial Uses of Hemp

Hemp oil products are what comes to our minds when anyone sounds it. But do you have the slightest idea of how it was a primary ingredient in everything that was produced in the 80s? Because of its versatility and tensile strength, the crops were used in the making of papers, clothes, food, cosmetics, etc. The demand of this crop was what cotton’s demand is today, which is why it was the ‘cash crop’ in the 19th century.

With the legalization of hemp production and applications, it seems the perks of these crops are resurfacing in the industry. Although there are handfuls of states that permit the production and apart from being CBD wholesalers or CBD distributors, there are a lot of ventures we can try investing in using hemp. Here are some of the coolest industrial applications of it!

1. Vehicles

Did you know Ford used hemp in constructing its cars? That was way back in the 1800s. Hemp fibers are light in weight but have the capacity to bear stress making it a desirable material for a structurally sound car. Hemp has been used in making bicycles and airplanes as well and has received reviews of being highly economical and reliable with commendable fuel efficiency.

2. Textiles

We have not been fortunate enough to know how hemp clothes felt because of the industrial tycoons in the 1800s who were determined to shut down the production of hemp for their personal gain. However, hemp clothes are back, the fibers used to produce clothes are more durable, versatile, and are more resistant to UV rays and atmospheric factors when compared to cotton.

3. Fuel

Petroleum and other extinguishable fossil fuels are wrong at so many levels. The biodegradable hemp fuel is exactly what we want the petroleum to be: cheaper and environment-friendly. Because of its short span of growth, 11% oxygen content, and capacity to refresh the soil, hemp has next to nothing environmental damage. However, the star benefit is that it is a great lubricant and can add years to the life of our vehicles.

4. Cosmetics

Almost all the huge beauty brands have embraced the comeback of hemp and introduced some very amazing products. The inclusion of hemp seeds in cosmetics is based on its high content of fatty acids which are crucial for good hair, skin, and nail health. Hemp-based cosmetics may also help in reducing acne and provide relief from standard eczema and dermatitis.

5. Food

If hemp has been doing enough rounds in the discussions of the USA citizens then it’s  because of its amazing nutrition value. It is not only rich in fibers, iron, potassium, and zinc, it has all the essential amino acids which is the most unique and advantageous factor in including hemp in our foods. Hemp snacks are already here and undoubtedly, we’ll see many more hemp foods in the coming years.

Really cool, right? Who knew there’s a whole new world of hemp other than the oils! However, CBD suppliers and manufacturers have given an appreciable boost in the wholesale sector of the hemp oil business. Their ‘wholesale partnering’ feature of the business is worth trying for everyone who is willing to step into the industry.
